Goliad Released Mugshot Records
A mugshot, also called a booking photograph, documents identity and appearance during a particular booking or custody episode. It is tied to an arrest record. It does not show whether the charge was dismissed, whether the person was convicted, or when custody ended.
Texas law does not make every booking photo categorically public or categorically secret. A request to the Goliad County Sheriff is evaluated under the Texas Public Information Act and any other law that applies to the person, case, or record. The custodian may consider law-enforcement exceptions, privacy, juvenile protections, expunction, nondisclosure, and the status of the case.
Release does not erase the underlying booking record by itself. Yet a photo can become unavailable because the agency never posted it, an online display expired, the record is restricted, or the request falls within an exception. Do not treat absence as proof that no arrest or release occurred.
Goliad Released Mugshot Channels
The official path changes with the custody system. The table separates verified sources from channels that were not found.
| Channel | Has photo? | How to access |
|---|---|---|
| Goliad sheriff release gallery | No verified gallery located | Do not assume a current roster preserves released records |
| Goliad sheriff app | No official app substantiated | Do not present a third-party app as a county service |
| Sheriff records request | Possible, subject to law | Request the named booking episode and photograph under Chapter 552 |
| TDCJ current record | May show an institutional image | Use only for a person currently incarcerated in state prison |
| Official sheriff social post | Sometimes | Use a dated post as an arrest lead, then verify jail and court records |
| Local news or press release | Sometimes | Check source, date, caption, and originating agency |
| Commercial publication | May retain an image | Treat as an unverified lead; use official records for confirmation |
VINELink is locally endorsed for custody status, but the research did not establish it as a durable Goliad booking-photo archive. A photo from one system should not be relabeled as another agency’s image.
Request a Goliad Booking Photo
The controlled local fallback is a written request to the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office. Ask for one defined booking episode. A precise request helps staff locate the right image and avoids merging two people with the same name.
- Identify the person. Give full legal name, aliases, date of birth, and booking number if known.
- Define the episode. State the booking date, arresting agency, charge, or court cause number available to you.
- Name the records. Request the booking photograph together with the booking and release sheet.
- Request key release fields. Ask for actual date and time, disposition, releasing authority, and receiving agency for a transfer.
- Choose electronic delivery. Ask for electronic copies and a cost estimate before work that will incur a charge.
- Preserve the response. Keep the request, agency response, legal basis for any withholding, and retrieval date.
The jail contact page lists 701 E. End St., Goliad, TX 77963 and the jail line at 361-645-8259. Use the Texas Attorney General’s request guidance for the Chapter 552 process. Do not send an unnecessary Social Security number or unrelated sensitive data.
No Goliad Mugshot Gallery
The official Goliad County sheriff page, jail page, and visible links were reviewed. No authoritative online jail roster with a released-photo gallery, 24-hour photo view, or 72-hour photo view was located. No update schedule or retention period can be claimed.
This is a limitation of the reviewed public channels, not proof that the sheriff never keeps photographs. The image may remain in the agency’s booking record even when no public gallery exists. It may also be withheld or redacted under law. Ask the records custodian about the specific booking.
No official Goliad sheriff mobile app was substantiated either. Mobile jail directories and commercial listings are not county products simply because they contain local names. They cannot establish which image the sheriff holds, whether the record was corrected, or when someone left custody.
Goliad Sheriff Facebook Photos
The county sheriff page links the office’s official Facebook account. A dated post can supply local arrest or news context and may carry a photograph. Save its date and direct post reference when available. Then compare the name and episode with the jail and clerk records.
An arrest-post date is not a release date. Deletion or nonappearance is not a release record, an expunction order, or proof of the case result. The sheriff’s administrative log is needed for actual release or transfer time, while the signed court judgment establishes disposition.
The captured official page below illustrates this supplemental publication channel.

Social imagery remains a lead. It should never be converted into an unsupported claim that a person was released or convicted.
TDCJ Photos After Goliad Transfer
If the Goliad jail record shows transfer to TDCJ after a state-prison sentence, the TDCJ current-inmate record may display an institutional image. That image belongs to the state-prison custody episode. It is not proof of the original Goliad booking photo.
TDCJ’s public search is current-incarceration only. A person who fully leaves TDCJ custody may disappear from it, so the search cannot be promised as a historical released-photo source. Save the record only for the permitted purpose at hand and verify the identity with TDCJ or SID number, date of birth, offense, and county of conviction.
If the public search no longer returns the record, use TDCJ information or records channels. Ask specifically for the relevant institutional photograph or release/discharge record and provide the identifier and date range. Do not infer the release date from the missing image.
Goliad Mugshot Publication Limits
Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 109 regulates covered businesses that publish criminal-record information. In qualifying circumstances, it imposes duties concerning accuracy, updates, and corrections. It also bars soliciting or accepting a fee to remove, correct, or modify covered information.
Chapter 109 is not a blanket ban on all booking photographs. It does not order the Goliad sheriff to publish a gallery. Nor does it mean every old page violates the law. Apply the statute’s terms to the specific publisher and record, and avoid services that promise removal for payment.
For an error in an official Goliad release record, contact the sheriff or clerk with the source judgment, release log, or other record that shows the error. A covered commercial publisher has a different statutory correction path. Do not confuse the two.
Correct Goliad Mugshot Errors
Start with identity. Two people can share a name, and photographs are especially prone to being copied without the full booking context. Compare date of birth, middle name, booking number, case number, physical descriptors, arresting agency, and the date of the image.
If the originating sheriff record is wrong, send the office a concise correction request with the signed order or other authoritative document. Ask for the record and photo caption to be corrected. Keep the response and retrieval dates. If the underlying court record is at issue, work with the Goliad County and District Clerk.
A commercial copy should not become the basis for rewriting an official record. First obtain the official booking sheet, disposition, and release event. Then use Chapter 109’s actual notice and correction provisions if the publisher is covered. This evidence-first approach preserves the difference between arrest, custody, release, and disposition.
Goliad Expunction and Nondisclosure
Texas does not offer one generic process to “seal a release record.” Expunction under Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A and nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411, Subchapter E-1 are different remedies with different eligibility rules and effects.
Expunction may apply to defined acquittals, pardons, dismissals, no-charge situations, and other cases. Release, dismissal, deferred adjudication, or sentence completion does not create universal eligibility. Nondisclosure restricts public disclosure of eligible criminal-history information while allowing access by criminal-justice and other authorized agencies in circumstances set by law.
The Texas Office of Court Administration forms page publishes distinct instructions for eight nondisclosure provisions. That variety shows why one waiting period or form cannot be promised for every Goliad case.

When an order restricts access, respect it. Do not attempt to recover or republish a restricted image from old copies.
Verify a Goliad Mugshot
A trustworthy record ties the image to the correct person, booking episode, source agency, and date. Obtain the sheriff-held booking sheet when possible. Pair it with the signed court judgment and the actual release or transfer record.
News and commercial pages may be stale, duplicated, or missing a later disposition. They are categories of possible discovery, not official proof. This page does not link to commercial mugshot publishers, data brokers, or paid removal services.
A current roster usually answers who is held now. A released person may disappear from it. The Goliad County released-inmate search shows how to check VINE, jail records, courts, TDCJ, and any named receiving agency without treating the photo as proof of release.
Label Goliad Booking Photos Carefully
Use the agency’s own description. A Goliad jail booking photo, a TDCJ institutional image, and a photograph attached to an official social post are not interchangeable. State which office supplied the image, which custody episode it depicts, and when the source was checked.
A caption should not add a conviction, release type, or sentence that the image source does not establish. If the jail record says transfer, report transfer and identify the receiving agency. If the photo came from an arrest notice, call it an arrest image and seek the later disposition from the clerk.
When identity cannot be reconciled through date of birth, booking number, cause number, or another stable identifier, leave it unconfirmed. A visual resemblance or shared name is not enough to merge two records.
